Technical Assistance
Technical assistance is available to communities in New England through the EPA PREPARED program at UMass Dartmouth. Eligible entities to receive technical assistance include community based non-profit organizations, local governments, and regional planning entities who are planning to apply for or are currently recipients of EPA grants and State Revolving Loan Funds.
Our technical assistance program supports resource-limited communities, helping enhance preparedness and build stronger capacity for data collection and reporting.
The program offers various types of technical assistance suitable for EPA and State Revolving Fund applicants and recipients, including:
- Collecting data for EPA grant applications and State Revolving Funds through needs assessments.
- Developing community engagement plans centered on storytelling and participatory approaches drawing on the methodologies in the EPA PREPARED Community Narratives.
For EPA and State Revolving Fund recipients, additional technical assistance includes:
- Providing guidance on grant reporting utilizing logic models that connect program resources, activities, outputs, and outcomes with indicators of pollution reduction, climate resilience, public health, workforce development, and socio-economic impacts.
- Proving guidance on program evaluations to asses outputs, outcomes, and effectiveness across all stages of environmental programs.
